What is the difference between Offer and Publisher budgets

Updated over a year ago

There are two ways to set up a budget for an offer on the admin platform,

  1. Offer Budget

  2. Publisher budget

Offer Budget:

Offer budget has always been the priority over the publisher budget on offer, meaning if the offer budget reaches but the publisher budget is still not filled, the system will follow the rules based on the budget that has been set up on the offer page.

Once the offer budget is set up as "Hard" and the budget is reached, the offer will disappear from the Publisher feed API and no click from the publisher will be redirected to the offer page anymore. All the clicks coming further will be redirected to a blank page and will be displayed in the internal reporting as “Discarded Click".

Once the offer budget is set up as "Soft" and the budget is reached, the offer will not disappear from the Publisher feed API, and further clicks from the publisher will be redirected to the offer page. (Show Soft Budgets instead of Hard Budgets)

Publisher Budget:

Once the publisher budget is set up as "Hard" and the budget is reached, the offer will disappear from the Publisher feed API and no click from the publisher will be redirected to the offer page anymore. All the clicks coming further will be redirected to a blank page and will be displayed in the internal reporting as “Discarded Click".

Once the publisher budget is set up as "Soft" and the budget is reached, the offer will not disappear from the Publisher feed API and further clicks from the publisher will be redirected to the offer page.
