Funnel Report

Funnel reports include a representation of the user journey, showing where users drop off or convert within the app's features or conversion pathways. By selecting events and metrics you can choose groups by dimensions (cohorts) to view users' behaviors. This leads you to a better understanding of how your audience uses your app and makes data-driven decisions to improve your user acquisition and experience.

How to Setup a Funnel

  1. Go to Reports > Funnel

  2. Select the Store App

  3. Select the Cohort Time (Date Range)

  4. Select Event Sequence

    1. ⚠️Important: The order in which you select your events will be the order displayed on the funnel, if selected out of order your data will display incorrectly

      1. For Example: you cannot select Register and then Open as the user must open/install before registering

  5. Select the Metrics you want to measure

  6. Select how you want to group your users (you can choose multiple)

  7. Add any additional filters to narrow down your analysis

  8. Click Generate Report

Funnel Report Table vs. Chart

Once you have generated your Funnel report, you will have the option to view your data in a Table or Chart. Change your view by clicking the Table or Chart on the top right side of the report.

Table

The table view provides a grid-like system that enables you to view numbers and percentages to pinpoint data easily. However the chart might be a better visual for funnel reports.

Chart

Visualize your data with a funnel chart that enables you to see a user's journey clearly. Hover over the funnels for more details. Select events on the bottom to highlight or remove events from the chart.

Use Cases

Chart: How to view my paid and organic users' journey through the app last month?

When comparing how different cohorts interact with your app, using the group by dimensions is a useful tool to visualize the difference. After selecting your event sequence and metrics, we can group by source.

Now on the chart view, you can see the journey for both paid and organic users. Below you can see that organic users were more likely to register after opening but were less likely to continue. Where paid users were less likely to install/open the app but were more likely to register and buy the premium plan.

Event Sequence: Open -> Register -> Login -> Premium

Metrics: Users, Ratio of Users
