Coupons
A coupon is a special, easy-to-implement line in the tracking URL (e.g. SALES20 for 20% discount) that can be used to get a discount at a store. The other feature of a coupon is the possibility of tracking the source of the user. A company that wants to do marketing can create several coupons with the same discount for the user but with different names to identify which affiliate has delivered the user. For example, in an influencer campaign Influencer XYZ would get to distribute the coupon code SALE_XYZ20 and influencer ABC would distribute the coupon SALE_ABC20.
Tracking is also generally done in a more straightforward manner as compared to Swaarm's usual tracking. The user itself is not tracked, but the usage of the coupon is tracked.
When an advertiser wants to run coupons on their campaign, you can implement the coupon in the code for specific publishers in a unique tracking link.
Let's see how to set this up.
How to Set Up a Coupon Code
Go to the Offers Overview page
Click the Coupons Tab
Click + Create Coupon
Input the coupon code received from the advertiser
A coupon code is an AlphaNumeric value, it cannot contain special characters
Select the offer that this coupon is valid for
Select the publisher that is using this coupon code
If the publisher is NOT approved on the offer, then they will be automatically approved after saving the coupon
Set the valid start date this coupon can be used
Set the expiration date for the coupon code
Add an internal note for you or your team
You will then see the details on the Coupons table including the coupon tracking link
You can then forward the tracking link with that coupon code to your publisher
You can test the coupon tracking link in the Scan Tool
The postback will then be fired with this parameter and macro:
postback?coupon_code=COUPON_CODE
Note: You can assign multiple codes to different publishers per offer. But you cannot create duplicate codes for the same Offer & Publisher combination.
Reporting
In the conversion report, the coupon code will be logged under the field ' Title'. To track the traffic received via coupon code, you can select the above field in reporting and apply a filter with the value as <coupon code>.
On the Offer Detail pages, you can see the coupons for the offer in the coupons tab as shown below. You can also manage and create coupons directly from this tab.
