Scan Offer

The Scan Offer Tool is a great way to check if your offer is redirecting to store or proper endpoint. There are a few other benefits to this tool you may not be aware about though, and we will cover them in this article.

How use the Scan Offer Tool

  1. Go to Tools in the menu

  2. Select Scan Offer

  3. Input either:

    1. Internal: The Swaarm Offer ID you want to scan in the Offer Field

      1. The rest of the fields will be automatically filled out

    2. External: The tracking link you want to scan in the Tracking Link field

      1. You will need to also input the Country and OS

      2. App Store ID is optional but entering this will help check if the store is hit

  4. Click Scan

Advanced Scan Options

The scan tool offers Advanced Configuration for a more accurate and robust scan of your offer. The options are as follows:

  • OS Version

    • If Web is selected this is disabled

  • Region

  • City

  • Connection Type

  • Connection ISP

  • Device Make

  • Device Model

  • Device Type

  • User Agent

    • This field is an alternative to the OS Version, Device Make/ Model/ Type.

Scan Results & Jumps

A successful jump or scan is when the tracking link redirects to the appropriate store. Also known as Hit Store with a green check mark. Most commonly you will also pick up a Tracker like Adjust or Appsflyer (it is not always the case though).

Swaarm refers to Jumps by how many links are in the URL Chain. For example: If you have your tracking link, the MMP link, and then the app store link - that will be 3 jumps.

An unsuccessful jump or scan is when the tracking link does not redirect to the appropriate store or possibly an unknown third party store. This results in the Hit Store having a red X and no Tracker being identified. You can still have multiple jumps and possibly even more jumps when it is unsuccessful, as your link may be redirecting through an offer wall or some other re-brokered link. Most commonly there will be only 1 or 2 URL's when it is unsuccessful.

Pro Tip: You can use the scan tool to also take a Publisher Tracking Test Link and check if it is redirecting to the Appstore or not.

Automatic Offer Scans

After you setup your offer, within a few hours, your the scan tool will automatically scan the offer in the background to check if it is redirecting to the store or not. Swaarm has an algorithm in place that begins with frequent scans of the offer and if the offer is stable, then the scans become less frequent. If the offer stops redirecting to the store is unstable, then the algorithm reverts back to frequent scans.

The algorithm starts scanning every 4 hours and after 4-7 days, if stable, it increases the frequency to 8 hours and continues up to 24 hours.

Note: If you have a Worldwide (WW) campaign, we only scan 5 major countries.

Last Save Scan

You can check the latest offer scan by clicking on the Jumps number on the Offer Details Page. Click last scan and you can see the last successful and unsuccessful scan. If there is a failed scan you may see multiple logs.

When you scan an offer with the tool you can click save scan. This enables the offer to immediately update the last scan. This can be useful if you want to enact a new automation rule you just created or for any optimization rule setup that discards traffic if the offer is not redirecting.
