View Through Attribution (VTA)

What is VTA and how to set it up in Swaarm, also how to view Postback Impression Attribution in Conversion Reports.

What is an Impression?

Impressions is when a user views the ad for a set amount of time regardless of any clicks or installs.

What is VTA?

View-Through-Attribution (Impression Tracking), is simply an Ad Impression that results in user install/action without the user clicking on the ad. There can be a time gap between when the user views an ad and when they install an application.

Advertising Networks will record and send impression data to an MMP similar to how click data is sent. When a user eventually installs or completes an action later on (even without clicking the ad), they can then attribute this to the impression that led to that install.

How to setup VTA on Swaarm

  1. Go to the existing offer you wish to enable VTA on.

    1. If you are setting up a new offer skip to step 3.

  2. Click Edit in the top right corner.

  3. On the General Tab, you can check the VTA box at the bottom right.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Make sure you have your impression tracking link filled out on the Landing Pages tab.

๐Ÿšจ IMPORTANT

Make sure VTA is enabled under Organization>Settings>Attribution

Postback Impression Attributions (VTA) in the Conversion Report

After you have set up VTA correctly you will now be able to track these impression attributions. You can view this data in Conversion Reports.

  1. Go to Conversion Reports

  2. Fill in the data for the report you are looking for.

  3. Make sure Postback Impression Attribution is checked in Select Columns.

  4. Click Search and you will see a report with the column Postback Impression Attribution.

  5. Green Check means it was a Impression Conversion and a Red X means it was not a Impression Conversion and the attribution was done via a click.
