Privacy Enabled Attribution (PEA)

How Swaarm's PEA Chain enables attribution across the network chain on iOS 14.5+ without collecting personal data.

Overview

Apple's iOS 14.5+ privacy changes (App Tracking Transparency and the removal of guaranteed IDFA access) made traditional click-ID-based attribution unreliable for users who don't grant tracking permission. Without attribution, ad networks and publishers in the chain lose the ability to optimize traffic and measure performance accurately.

Privacy Enabled Attribution (PEA) is Swaarm's solution to this problem. It allows attribution to flow through the entire network chain - publisher, network, advertiser - without collecting any personally identifiable information.

How It Works

Swaarm generates a token called the PEA Chain, which is passed in the click and can be retrieved in the postback. This token contains all the information needed for each party in the chain to identify the campaign and traffic source - without relying on a device identifier like the IDFA.

Because the PEA Chain carries this information end-to-end, networks using Swaarm can continue to give publishers of all sizes access to the attribution data they need to optimize their traffic, even when device-level tracking isn't available.

Where to Implement PEA

PEA Chain works alongside your existing tracking setup. To implement it with your partners, see the relevant integration guide:
