Traffic Tagging

Traffic Tagging enables the categorization of clicks into defined tags, allowing you to group traffic with similar attributes.

The Traffic Tags feature is found under the Traffic menu, where you can manage tags similar to Tags for entities. Here you can create, edit, and delete traffic tags.

Traffic Tag Rule Creation

When creating a Traffic Tag, you can select traffic characteristics similar to how advanced targeting rules are configured. Each tag is used as a filter by identifying a specific segment of traffic that matches the targeting configuration. For example, a tag named “Facebook traffic in the USA” could be configured by targeting the HTTP Refer Header equals Facebook and the Geo Country equals USA. Which will tag all clicks coming from Facebook and in the USA as "Facebook Traffic in the USA".

How to Create a Traffic Tag Step-by-Step

  1. Go to Traffic > Tag in the menu

  2. Click the +Create button in the top right

  3. Provide a tag Name that will be assigned to the traffic that matches the targeting

  4. Add a Description to describe what type of traffic you are tagging

    1. By default the Active checkbox is checked, uncheck the box to deactivate the traffic tag

  5. Filter the traffic that defines the segment you wish to tag

    1. This is a similar configuration to Advanced Targeting or Traffic Targeting

  6. Click Save

After you click save, you can view and manage your tags on the table. Utilize the interface to create, edit, or delete traffic tags as needed.

Using Traffic Tags in Reports

Traffic tags can be used in reports. You can filter and analyze data based on assigned traffic tags. Select Traffic Tags as one of the dimensions or add a filter for Traffic Tags in Custom Reports. This allows for detailed insights and analytics on traffic segments, improving data-driven decision-making.
