Migration

This article will outline the steps to be followed while migrating

Updated over a week ago

We are happy that you have decided to migrate to Swaarm! Please follow the steps below to start migrating from your old platform to the Swaarm Platform!

Step 1

Start migration: In order to start migrating all your data to the Swaarm Platform, we need the Admin API key of your previous platform. Below are the steps on how to retrieve the API key:

  1. For the Affise platform, you can go to the User management page and share the API key if you are an admin user. You can also create another admin user and share the API key with us. Details about Affise user management: https://affise.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014031579-User-Management-

  2. Username and password for login to CPAPI if you are already using the tool from Affise. We need to have access there in order to copy your network configs in the Swaarm Platform.

  3. For tracking platforms other than Affise, please contact our support team who can walk you through the steps.

Step 2

Go to your empty Swaarm Platform and click on the migration page: https://cockpit.demo.swaarm.com/migration/settings

Insert the Global Postback URL of your old platform that you are currently using.

  1. For Affise, you can find your global postback URL on the 'Offer’s edit' page - > ‘Postbacks’ section - > ‘Integration pixels’ field.

  2. For other platforms, please contact our support team if you have difficulties with finding your Global postback.

  3. The global postback from your previous tracking solution is important for us because we will forward conversions that belong to your old platform by using this link until the migration process to Swaarm is complete.

Insert the Click URL (which you provide to your publishers) of the old platform that you are using.

  1. For Affise, you can get your Click URL from the Affiliate panel > Offers > Certain offer >Tracking link section.

  2. For other platforms, please contact our support team if you have difficulties with finding your Click URL.

  3. The Click URL is important for us because your publishers that are using the Swaarm Feed API can still send traffic to the old platform until the migration process is completed.

Step 3

Communicate with your publishers to start using the Swaarm Feed API:

1. If your publisher is using Affise then tell them to choose Swaarm as a Demand source from CPAPI:

You will need to provide the Base URL and the API key, which you will find in the Swaarm Platform Publisher details page under the “API key” section:

Your publisher then can insert Base URL and API Key fields on Affise as below:

2. If your publisher is not connected to CPAPI and using feed API directly, then you can share the API documentation as well as API details, which you will find in the Swaarm Platform Publisher details page under the “API key” section.

3. Once the publisher is integrated with Swaarm API, we recommend providing them with the link to partner UI.

Step 4

Communicate with you advertisers to change the postback URL:

  1. This step can be done parallel while the publishers are updating their Feed API.

  2. Your Global postback should look similar to the one below:

https://c.yourNetwork.com/postback?click_id={ADV_CLICKID_MACRO}&event_id={ADV_EVENTID_MACRO}&sale_amount={PAYOUT_MACRO}

Step 5

Once all your publishers are moved to the Swaarm Feed API and the advertiser that you are communicating with currently has switched to the Swaarm Platform postbacks, you can turn off the migration by following these steps:

  1. Go to Migration > Advertisers in Swaarm Platform

  2. If your advertiser is direct, you can simply switch off the migration

  3. If your advertiser is a network, you will have to turn on the network settings on the network page (Integration > Networks)

Step 6 End of Migration

Click “Stop migration”

You are done! Welcome to Swaarm!
