Integrating Swaarm with Cleartrust: Step-by-Step Guide

This article describes how to integrate with Cleartrust to help prevent fraudulent traffic

Updated this week

Overview

Swaarm’s Cleartrust integration provides detailed monitoring of click quality based on TQI Score for your feeds. This article outlines how to configure the integration in Swaarm, enable it across different hierarchy levels (Offer, Partner, Advertiser), and manage rules through the Swaarm UI.

TQI score - is the definitive score that communicates traffic quality across channels and ad formats. The risk is assigned depending on score value:

0 to 5.9 - high risk traffic

6 to 6.9 - medium risk traffic

7 to 8.9 - low risk traffic

9 to 10 - clean traffic

The integration allows you to:

  • Enable quality monitoring at the Publisher, Provider, and Feed levels, giving you more granular control over traffic evaluation

  • Automatically reject low-quality clicks in real time, with no delay in taking action

  • Add, edit, and manage rules directly within the Swaarm UI, giving you full control over how traffic is filtered

Step 1 - Set Cleartrust integration in your Swaarm account

Go to Organization > Settings > Connections Tab

  • Click on the Cleartrust Tab

  • Enter your Cleartrust API Key

  • Click Save

Step 2 - Configure and enable Optimization Rule in your Swaarm account

  • Go to Automation → Optimization Rules → Create rule.

  • Scope the rule (choose target Providers / Feeds / Publishers).

  • Set:

    • Rule Type: Request

    • Rule: Cleartrust Script

    • Block Traffic:

      • Off - Monitor only (log scores, doesn’t block)

      • Block Low Risk Traffic - if on, blocks clicks with TQI Score from 7 to 8.9

      • Block Medium Risk Traffic - if on, blocks clicks with TQI Score from 6 to 6.9

      • Block High Risk Traffic - if on, blocks clicks with TQI Score from 0 to 5.9

      • Block users that could not be checked

    • Active: On

  • Save.

NOTE: If none of the feed/provider/publisher are selected, the rule applies to ALL

Reporting for flagged clicks

Monitor mode: the clicks will be checked, but not blocked. The amount of fraudulent clicks could be checked on your Cleartrust dashboard.

Block mode: rejected requests with the request failed rule 'Cleartrust script rule'. You may check such clicks in Custom report and Explorer in your Swaarm account.
